UNLEASH Hack Somalia focuses on the urgent need to scale nature-based solutions (NbS) to build climate resilience across Somalia. In recent years, communities have faced the harsh reality of climate change – devastating droughts, flash floods, and worsening land degradation are threatening livelihoods, food systems, and fragile ecosystems. These challenges are especially critical in rural and coastal areas where nature is both a source of survival and strength. This Hack invites participants to rethink how Somalia can restore and protect its natural systems – like forests, wetlands, and mangroves – while equipping local communities to lead the way in climate adaptation, water security, and sustainable land use.
