Cross-sector collaboration is imperative in Zambia to address the intertwined challenges of climate change and food security. Zambia is experiencing increasingly severe droughts due to climate change, exacerbating food insecurity, and threatening agricultural livelihoods. Agriculture remains a primary livelihood source for a significant portion of Zambia's population, the adverse effects of climate change directly impact food security and exacerbate poverty. Climate mitigation efforts are essential to alleviate the effects of droughts and ensure sustainable food production. Participants in this Hack will ideate around urgent action to address this issue. They will focus on comprehensive strategies that integrate climate mitigation efforts, sustainable agricultural practices, and social safety nets to build resilience and ensure food security for all Zambians.
The Hack is scheduled to take place on October 19 and 20.
