Nepal is highly vulnerable to climate-induced disasters, including floods, landslides, and extreme weather events, which are exacerbated by global climate change. The lack of adequate preparedness at the local level leaves communities disproportionately affected, resulting in loss of lives, livelihoods, and infrastructure. UNLEASH Hack in Nepal focuses on leveraging local knowledge, technology, and community engagement to establish robust disaster preparedness frameworks. By integrating climate science, risk mapping, early warning systems, and community-based training programs, we aim to equip vulnerable communities with the tools and knowledge necessary to mitigate the impact of climate-induced disasters, ensuring their long-term resilience and sustainable development.
The Hack is scheduled to take place late November.
