In Malawi, youth unemployment amongst those aged 18-35, stands at over 20%. This age range constitutes more than 30% of the total population. Therefore, youth unemployment is affecting large numbers, and it is projected to increase further with time. This has led to an increase in poverty and crime rates amongst the youth. As such, UNLEASH Hack Malawi aims to bring the Malawian youth together to brainstorm solutions that align with the UN SDGs 1, 8 and 10, thereby putting them at the forefront of creating innovative solutions to challenges that affect them the most. By empowering the youth to contribute meaningfully to the economy, we aim to alleviate poverty, reduce crime, and build a more prosperous and inclusive society. Ultimately, contributing to Malawi's overall economic development, in line with her 2063 Vision.

The Hack is scheduled to take place on October 4 and 5.
