Indigenous women are guardians of Mother Earth, they communicate with her and live in a harmonious relationship of mutual care. The globalized world we live in, has generated damage seen in climate change which affects the environment and the livelihoods of indigenous populations. Even more evident are the impacts to indigenous women and girls who are mainly responsible for care tasks linked to providing family water, collecting food, medicinal plants, and caring for some domestic animals. UNLEASH Hack Bolivia intersects SDG 5 Gender Equality and SDG 13 Climate Action and aims to find innovative solutions that preserve the environment, focusing on the important role of indigenous women, a population in a highly vulnerable situation.
The Hack is scheduled to take place on October 26 and 27.
