Since the inaugural UNLEASH event in 2017, the Hempel Foundation has been a partner of UNLEASH.

The Hempel Foundation is a commercial foundation dedicated to making a difference. The Foundation is the sole shareholder of the Hempel Group – a world-leading supplier of coatings for man-made structures – and a committed philanthropist within the fields of education, sustainable coatings technology and sustaining biodiversity. Since 2010 the Hempel Foundation has reached more than 130,000 children through a wide variety of education projects around the world.

UNLEASH is happy to continue the collaboration with the Hempel Foundation on the SDG 4: Quality Education track during the program in Shenzhen, China.

Although we are witnessing a growing share of the world’s children that attend school, there are far too many children who do not obtain proficiency in basic skills such as reading, writing and math. This is one of the challenges that the Hempel Foundation urges the talents to work on.

“We cannot expect to solve challenges within education and so many other problems financially or with legislation. We need new thinking, new technology, new ideas. And we need a global network of creative thinking for tomorrows challenges that we do not even know yet. That is why the Hempel Foundation continues to support UNLEASH as the world’s biggest innovation lab for how to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals,” says Anders Holm, Executive Director at the Hempel Foundation.

In 2019, approximately 150 talents will work on solutions relating to SDG 4. The Hempel Foundation will be providing insights for the talents to work on.
