This UNLEASH Hack addresses digital illiteracy and limited access to technology in Karongi District's rural communities in Rwanda. These challenges cause residents to spend unnecessary time and resources visiting banks and service centers for simple tasks that could be completed electronically. This inefficiency underscores broader issues of limited infrastructure and socio-economic disparities, slowing economic growth and access to essential services. To create a smarter future, we need solutions that expand digital literacy, improve technology infrastructure, and encourage the adoption of electronic tools. The Hack aims to generate innovative ideas and collaborations that empower local residents with the skills and resources to access services more efficiently, promoting sustainable development and reducing inequalities in the region.
The Hack is scheduled to take place on November 16 and 23.
