1st- through 10th-grade students in small Greenlandic cities and settlements need access to teachers with subject-specific relevant knowledge. LearningNearby initiates and facilitates the implementation of a policy proposal for municipalities to create a program connecting schools to a virtual network of qualified teachers and Greenlandic professionals to supplement existing teachers’ knowledge gaps. Online classes with subject knowledgeable teachers will supplement existing lessons and Greenlandic experts will share their life stories and career paths. Ultimately, the result will be students prepared to thrive after compulsory school with boosted education rates and competencies, awareness of possible futures, confidence, and cultural appreciation.
