UNLEASH Hack USA focuses on the pressing issue of access to quality education in underserved communities and low-income school systems from K-12, in the face of the increasingly globalized digital landscape. In the United States, under-resourced schools frequently face challenges providing adequate instruction and support for students. These risks not only prevent youth from achieving social mobility but also perpetuate the economic inequalities between social classes. The COVID-19 pandemic further exacerbated educational access in underprivileged communities, affecting the foundational skills of students. By fostering a collaborative platform for youth changemakers, the Hack seeks to design solutions that support marginalized communities with access to innovative solutions to bridge the lack of quality education through ideation and implementation for meaningful impact.
