UNLEASH Hack Yemen focuses on the urgent issue of youth unemployment and the weak alignment between higher education and labor market needs. In Yemen, youth unemployment exceeds 48%, and more than 60% of university graduates struggle to find jobs that match their qualifications. This disconnect limits young people’s economic participation and stifles innovation, which is vital for recovery and development. The Hack will mobilize young changemakers to co-design practical, tech-enabled solutions that bridge the education-employment gap, enhance skills development, and strengthen collaboration between academia, employers, and the entrepreneurial ecosystem, contributing to SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).
