Inclusive economic growth in Ibadan

UNLEASH Hack Ibadan, held on August 23 and 24, 2024, was a transformative experience for 23 Talents passionate about creating a better future. The Hack challenged participants to develop innovative solutions for job creation and economic empowerment, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal 8.
Over the 2-day program, participants engaged in a rigorous process of problem framing, ideation, and prototyping. Through iterative feedback, they honed their skills in human-centered design, ensuring their solutions were impactful and relevant.
The Hack culminated in the presentation of 6 promising solutions addressing themes such as youth empowerment, digital innovation, and inclusivity. For many participants, this was their first exposure to design thinking, and their progress was impressive.
Marvellous Adelaja, one of the Talents, shared her experience: “UNLEASH Hack Ibadan was mentally stimulating. Learning design thinking and applying it to daily decisions was invaluable. The Facilitators were knowledgeable, and the pitching sessions were refining tools for our ideas.”
At the end of the program, Team GradSkill emerged as the winner, followed by Team EduXcelerate, and Team FinEd.
UNLEASH Hack Ibadan showcased the immense potential of student-driven innovation in shaping the future of work and economic development. By supporting the next generation of leaders, the Hack contributed to a more equitable and sustainable future for all.
