GOViral launches pilot in Philippines
Based on the advice of several stakeholders at UNLEASH 2018 UNLEASH team GOViral has identified a local Barangay (community) where it wants to pilot its solution. The solution focusses on HBV in the Philippines, and it has received full support from the municipal mayor, the local health workers, and health data center. In addition, UNLEASH Shuwen Koh, UNLEASH 2018 facilitator, has joined the team in an advisory role. The team has applied for challenges and competitions such as Unilever and the MIT Solve Challenge – http://bit.ly/2n0HRUG. It has also launched a website that you can visit here.

Laura Heerema launches GiantLeaps
UNLEASH 2017 talent Laura Heerema launches GiantLeaps, the start-up that was her insight as she applied for UNLEASH. GiantLeaps calculates the climate impact of the food you serve. Either per dish on your menu, or through an analysis of the products you purchase. Using Life Cycle Assessment, it provides clear numbers and graphics. It gives insight in which products contribute the most, how you score compared to similar restaurants and help measure your progress whilst implementing climate friendly measures. Read more here.

Adrian Watson has been selected as 30 Under 30 Caribbean American Emerging Leader & Change Maker
Adrian Watson from UNLEASH 2018 cohort was selected as 30 Under 30 Caribbean American Emerging Leader & Change Maker. Adrian has been environmental advocate for the last six years and grassroots community development worker since he was 14 years old within his home community of Seaview Gardens. He is the current National Coordinator of the Caribbean Youth Environment Network Jamaica Chapter. Read more here.

Rafael Buralli, Nuria Sanchez Clemente and Sofia Lizarralde’s article has been published by The Brazilian Scientific Magazine
The Brazilian Scientific Magazine “Revista Ambiente & Sociedade” published today the article titled “Moving towards the SDGs: the UNLEASH experience”. In this paper, they talk a bit about the 2030 agenda and explain how this incredible innovation lab works. The rest of the authors are from University of São Paulo, an UNLEASH partner. OneDay Health features in SDSN 2018 “Youth Solutions” report
“OneDay Health”, a social enterprise founded by UNLEASH 2017 talents, has been selected for the Sustainable Development Solutions Network 2018 “Youth Solutions” report. OneDay Health was one of 50 solutions selected based on 6 criteria which included relevance, impact and scalability. OneDay Health launch hubs of basic, yet comprehensive health centers in remote healthcare ‘black holes’. Their 8 Health Centers have to date treated 10,000 patients, and saved poor rural citizens an estimated $20,000US in travel costs. Read more here.
