This new tool for social impact assesses the process of building wind farms. A mandatory community assembly made up of stakeholders from the government, a wind power company, the local community and experts will come up with inputs on what cost and benefits the wind farm project will bring to the area. These stakeholders will work together to create a social impact assessment using expert input. When the assessment is completed, they will use it to create a community benefit agreement that sketches out what has to be done in the area for the local communities not to be negatively affected by the project. This process will build trust and ensure Sami's interests are considered early in the process.
