Ramboll Foundation partners with UNLEASH

A just green transition is one of the defining challenges of our time. Cities across Europe are navigating complex dilemmas: How do we build for density while preserving the green spaces that keep cities livable? How do we transition to climate-neutral mobility without excluding the people who rely on today’s systems? How do we adapt our built environments to shifting realities in ways that strengthen, rather than fracture, community life?

We’re thrilled to collaborate again with the Ramboll Foundation and Ramboll Group to address these questions while reimagining the future of the built environment in Europe and beyond. “At a time when Europe faces defining choices about the future of our cities, this partnership strengthens our ability to support young people to lead the way. Ramboll brings deep technical expertise and a long-standing commitment to sustainable urban development, and the Ramboll Foundation crucial funding, and together we can create the conditions for bold ideas to emerge and take root. I’m proud that we are once again joining forces to inspire the next generation of changemakers who will shape more inclusive, resilient, and climate-ready communities,” says Chair of UNLEASH, Prof. Flemming Besenbacher.

Ramboll’s expertise in sustainable urban planning and their commitment to user-centric, evidence-based solutions play a vital role in helping us turn these dilemmas into opportunities for thriving societies. Together, we aim to equip young changemakers with the tools, insights, and perspectives needed to shape cities that are resilient, inclusive, and climate ready.

“We’re excited to join forces with the other partners and contribute with funding and technical insights of the Ramboll Group to UNLEASH’s work with young changemakers around our shared agendas such as resilient cities, climate adaptation, liveability, and sustainable urban development. UNLEASH helps talents become real drivers of change for the future, and the world needs it,” says Asbjørn Kristensen Høgsbro, Head of Philanthropy at the Ramboll Foundation.

Through this partnership, we will host three Hacks in Copenhagen, London, and Singapore; bring the UNLEASH Europe Innovation Lab to life to equip youth to rethink how places are designed, governed, and experienced; and offer continuous support via the UNLEASH Innovation Hub, with mentorship, tools, and technical expertise.

We’re excited to deepen this collaboration and help unlock bold new ideas for the future of European cities!
