UNLEASH Hacks are officially underway for 2025! Since March, aspiring Hack Organizing Teams from within the UNLEASH Community have laid the foundations for Hacks in their local communities. Their motivation? A passion to take initiative in addressing sustainability issues that affect them personally or the communities they’re connected to. 

24 Hacks are happening across the world (in 20 locations!) with more than 100 organizers leading the charge to bring innovation to their communities. They will address themes ranging from transforming industry using technology in India, to addressing food packaging waste in Lebanon, and from promoting access to education in Afghanistan and the USA, to sustainable agriculture in Ghana.

Since the beginning of the year, Organizing Teams have worked on designing the building blocks for planning their Hacks by joining a series of Build-Your-Hack workshops. Over the course of one month, they learnt about choosing the right themes for their Hacks, the logistics and strategies involved in setting up a multi-stakeholder program, and about how to communicate about their Hack’s impact. This knowledge will not only be valuable to organizing their Hacks, but is also relevant for mobilizing their communities to drive local impact in any form or shape.

And now it’s time for organizers to leverage resources in the UNLEASH Hacks Toolkit for the execution of their Hacks! From Singapore to Jamaica, they will lead their communities to co-create solutions around challenges that impact them, while gaining practical tools and skills to drive sustainable change. 

As we look forward to the year ahead, we’re excited for so many unique opportunities for changemakers to engage with UNLEASH through local Hacks.
